Join us on Tuesday, December 15 at 8 p.m. Eastern as we delve deeper into the doctrine of Divine Providence with featured speakers Rev. Rachel Madjerac and Rev. Sarah Walker.
Rachel was ordained in 2018 into the Swedenborgian Church of North America and is the incoming minister of the Roseville New Church in NSW, Australia.
Sarah’s work is centered in The Logopraxis Institute which runs out of the Australian New Church College. Logopraxis is a process orientated approach for working with spiritual principles that are drawn from the Bible and expounded up in Swedenborg’s writings.
Divine Providence is the doctrine that there is a stream of life moving in a direction, and that direction, that intention, is a heaven of the human race — those are the words that Emanuel Swedenborg uses to describe the goal of this Providence. And if you think about what we know of the history of life on this planet, evolution has been moving and growing and becoming continually more and more complex, up until the formation of us human beings, with our incredible capacity to observe and think and be conscious of our lives.
While it can be hard sometimes, perhaps, to consider that we are moving in a heavenly direction — with all of the challenges that we human beings seem to continually cause for one another — you could say that all of it is this process of ever-increasing freedom.
